Postcards from Korea

During a month long visit to see family in South Korea in the fall of 2019, I painted postcard sized (4inx6in) watercolors of my day to day surroundings and sent them around the world. A collector could choose the image they prefer or leave it up to me to choose an image for them. I went to the local Diaso (dollar store) and chose stationary to write letters with and stickers to give as a small gift. I also included an explanation of the image, where it was taken, what was happening. These are the few remaining paintings from that series. I did not capture each postcard but rather let them exist in that moment of creation and then continue on to their new home.
